Oyster

Weight: light
Hammering: mixed density
Tension: dual tension - medium, low
Bell: modified pressed bell - "efes"
Patina: light - acid
Profile: mixed
The Oyster is a cymbal concept characterized by an uneven shape and profile. Most of the cymbal has a traditionally shaped profile, while about a quarter of the cymbal is nearly flat. The traditional section gives the cymbal a strong and sweet stick sound, while the flat portion adds a sympathetically resonating lower pitched wash. This cymbal comes standard with two brass rivets. Note: the flat, softer section of the cymbal will always hang opposite to the player.

Spring ride

Weight: medium
Hammering: heavy
Tension: medium
Bell: modified pressed bell - PGB
Patina: medium/heavy - acid, sulfur
Profile: medium
The Spring ride has a pronounced stick attack with a low pitched, complex wash that sits beneath it. While being a medium weight cymbal, it is very sensitive near the edge, especially if you strike with the shoulder of the drum stick. This ride cymbal is inspired by the one that Tony Williams uses on his album Spring.

JOYride

Weight: lighter than medium
Hammering: heavy
Tension: medium/high
Bell: modified pressed bell - PGB
Patina: medium/heavy - acid, sulfur
Profile: medium/high
The JOYride is a cymbal inspired by Tony William’s ride cymbal from his album Spring, except this version is made to be slightly lighter and more complex than what he actually played - a more irresponsible TW ride. It has a focused stick sound and complex wash that remains constant at all dynamics. This is a very sensitive ride cymbal.

G-Wagon

Weight: Light
Hammering: Heavy
Tension: medium/high
Bell: modified pressed bell - "efes"
Patina: medium - acid, sulfur
Profile: medium/high
The G-Wagon is a thin cymbal with a saturated and complex sound. This is due to its large profile and deep hammering. It has a dry, yet vibrant and slightly sweet stick sound. This cymbal comes standard with two brass rivets.

GOOD ride

Weight: medium/light
Hammering: medium
Tension: medium
Bell: modified pressed bell - traditional
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium
As its name suggests, it’s a GOOD cymbal. Plain and simple. This is our take on a traditional cymbal made with the highest quality craftsmanship that is versatile for many musical scenarios. A lot of customers will try this cymbal and say: “it’s like an old K.” That wasn’t our goal, but it’s good. It has a strong stick attack, a balanced and warm wash, a precise bell sound, and is just light enough to be crashable.

Stellar ride

Weight: light/very light
Hammering: dense, medium hammering
Tension: high
Bell: modified pressed bell - traditional
Patina: medium/light - acid, sulfur
Profile: high
The Stellar is a very saturated cymbal characterized by its large umbrella-shaped profile and shallow hammering. It has a higher pitch and somewhat hollow sound. The top end is sparkly, and its body is a warm floaty wash. It was originally made to test the limits of the bronze we work with. This cymbal comes standard with two brass rivets.

Flat ride

Weight: light
Hammering: medium
Tension: medium
Bell: none
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium
The Flat ride! You know them, you love them, but you don’t love them as much as you’ll love our flat ride. Ours is characterized by Phil never having played another flat ride except the ones he’s made. Joseph would describe them as much less pingy than most flat rides, and much more sensitive/crashable than most other flat rides. Its traditional finish leaves room for the cymbal to breathe and be very expressive.

Coin Star

Weight: light/very light
Hammering: dense, medium hammering
Tension: high
Bell: modified pressed bell - traditional
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium
Have you ever dropped a piggy bank? It sounds great! The Coin Star is characterized by having 14 rivets spaced around the edge in pairs; 7 brass rivets & 7 brass grommets. This is enough rivets where they will choke the sustain of the cymbal in a pleasing way. The cymbal itself is similar to the Stellar series: high tension and ultra saturated. This is the cymbal you play when you’ve heard all the cymbals in the world. It’s the closest model we have to the custom cymbals we’ve made for JD Beck (he’s nuts).

Sugar

Weight: light
Hammering: medium heavy
Tension: medium/low
Bell: modified pressed bell - efes
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium
This cymbal has an ultra sweet stick attack with a warm breathy wash. The higher frequencies of both the wash and the stick are silky and full of life. The balance between stick and wash feels natural and versatile for many genres of music. It’s just saturated enough to make you feel safe. This cymbal is the one you would be proud to introduce to your family.

Car crash

Weight: light
Hammering: deep indentation
Tension: medium/high
Bell: modified pressed bell - PGB
Patina: medium/light - acid
Profile: medium/low
The Car crash is our most aggressive crash cymbal (still not harsh!). The deep clustered hammering gives the cymbal a trashy complex wash, but the care we put in to making it adds just a honey drop’s amount of sweetness to it. This cymbal has a short sustain that will cut through the mix for just enough time to not get in the way. Great for accents and punches, also [expert level] playing it in a softer context unlocks your third eye.

GOOD crash

Weight: light/medium
Hammering: medium
Tension: medium
Bell: pressed bell - traditional
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium/low
First came the GOOD ride, then came the GOOD crash. Actually the GOOD hats came 2nd. The GOOD crash is a versatile crash cymbal (nobody says it sounds like old K) for most musical situations. It will cut through the band without being harsh, it has a medium sustain, and a warm wash. This is our version of a traditional crash cymbal.

Bus crash

Weight: light
Hammering: medium
Tension: low
Bell: hand-formed bell
Patina: turk
Profile: low
One time when we were broke we only had a 17” clap stack blank on the shelves, so we made an ultra-light crash with a hand-formed bell and a turk finish. The result was a crash cymbal with a very fast decay, dark complex wash, and high frequencies similar to that of a flat ride due to the shallow hand-formed bell. This cymbal was our way out of poverty.

Thunder

Weight: light
Hammering: heavy mixed hammering
Tension: high
Bell: modified pressed bell - PGB
Patina: clear top // turk bottom
Profile: low
The Thunder is a hybrid china style cymbal. Marked by 4 deep pockets of hammering, this cymbal is extremely complex and with subtly dark and controlled wash. Crashing this cymbal produces an explosive ‘china-like’ crash that will cut through hardened steel, while the warm complex wash follows beneath its quick decay. This cymbal is also nice to use as an FX ride, the bell is the secret sauce.

GOOD hi-hats

Weight: medium/light
Hammering: medium
Tension: medium
Bell: modified pressed bell - traditional
Patina: light - acid
Profile: medium/low
The GOOD hi-hats are an all around pair of hats that work for most musical situations. They have a clean and crisp stick sound, a neat and tidy chick, and the open hat has a warm washy sound that is like a hug from your grandmother. Bring these to the studio and the engineer will love you. Bring these to rehearsal and you’re guaranteed to get more gigs. The GOOD series is our take on traditional cymbals; some say it sounds like certain old cymbals referred to by a single letter.

G-Wagon hi-hats

Weight: light
Hammering: heavy
Tension: medium/high
Bell: modified pressed bell - efes
Patina: medium - acid, sulfur
Profile: medium/low
The G-Wagon hi-hats are a lightweight pair of high hats with a saturated, open sound. They have a warm complex wash with a velvety stick; all without losing their ‘chick’ when played with the foot.

Stellar hi-hats

Weight: light/very light
Hammering: dense, medium hammering
Tension: high
Bell: modified pressed bell - traditional
Patina: medium/light - acid, sulfur
Profile: medium
This pair of hi-hats gives you a precise stick attack while remaining both smooth and lush on the foot. The open sound is complex and saturated, vaguely resembling a 707 drum machine hit. These hi-hats have a short frequency range. Staying mostly in the higher register sitting at the top of the mix. JD Beck would love this specific pair.

PGB Stack

Weight: light
Hammering: sparse heavy hammering
Tension: low
Bell: none
Patina: turk
Profile: taco
The PGB stack is similar to the popular stacks you know and maybe love, but ours is much better. What makes our version different is that it has a larger range of dynamics (mostly louder). This is achieved by making each cymbal have a slightly more exaggerated profile than the next with the bottom being the flattest; this makes the stack act as a spring. Because of this, our stack must be used with a solid wingnut and felt to achieve the correct tension. You can adjust the amount of decay by tightening or loosening the wingnut. We also cut the cymbals (similar to our oyster), making them not completely round while taking away some of the high pitched metallic frequencies. The cymbals are 10, 13, and 15 inches. Add this to your setup and get some cheeks.
